My morning as mitochondria
My morning as mitochondria went well. First I took in some nutrients. Then I broke them down. And then I created energy rich molecules for the cell. Then the cell used that energy to carry out various functions. My mornings are usually very difficult because i have to keep the humans body moving. When the cells don't get enough oxygen, they don't get alot of ATP. ATP is what is produced in me using energy stored in food. 30 molecules of ATP are produced in me. Thats alot. By contrast, only 2 molecules of ATP are produced per glucose molecule by glycolysis alone. The ATP synthase is located in my inner membrane, the hydrophilic catalytic F1 portion is sticking into matrix. If your wondering what I look like, I am shaped like a bean, I have a double membrane structure and my own genetic information. Well thats my day, and just for fun some information about me. Stay tuned for more about me. -Mitochondria.
