Teenage Students Raising Hands

AoWs

AoW stands for Article of the Week.  The idea is for students to get regular practice reading and writing while simultaneously building their knowledge of the world.  Kelly Gallagher came up with the idea for AoWs, and shared it in his book Readicide

AoWs are available Monday and due Friday each week.  Students should write about their reaction to the article - questions, connections, how their thinking changed while reading.  The AoW writing is NOT a summary.  It should be your ideas on paper.
