Guess what!? I make the foood for this beautiful cell manufraction! How exciting is that?? .... I am Chloroplast Cell the Third. Thats my name indeed! I, Chloroplast Cell the Third, work to convert light energy of the Sun into sugars that can be used by cells. The entire process is called photosynthesis and it all depends on the little green chlorophyll molecules in each chloroplast. Since the third, I am a very old Chlorplast....sad right. But the best part about being the oldest, is that the youngest helps out the oldest...weird? Not really! The oxygen released by the chloroplasts is the same oxygen you breathe every day. Mitochondria work in the opposite direction. They use oxygen in the process of releasing chemical energy from sugars. Mitochondira is our opposites... Well this lovely
